[Paris]. 1572. 2 parts in 1 volume in-8, havana morocco, ornate ribbed spine, double framing double and triple gilt fillet on covers with corner finials, gilt motif pushed to center of covers double gilded fillet on the edges, gilded edges, framed with garlands, dotted lines and gilded on the inside back covers. Binding signed Gruel. First edition of this apology for Mary Stuart, attributed to Belleforest by Barbier after La Croix du Maine. There is also an edition with the address of Jean de Tournes in Lyon. The two errata pages are found found in only a few copies. Ex-libris Emile Délicourt. A fine copy.
