Manuscript in brown, red and blue ink of the famous early description of the Basilica of St. Denis.
Denis basilica. It forms the second, autonomous part of the work written by the historian Michel Félibien,
entitled Histoire de l'abbaye royale de Saint-Denys en France (History of the Royal Abbey of Saint-Denys in France).
It is bound with the 12 plates illustrating this description in the Léonard edition.
It is further illustrated with a pencil drawing heightened with India ink wash (p. 29), which reproduces the vignette
engraved vignette on p. 555 of the Léonard edition.
Consecutively bound, 8 copper-engraved plates concerning the abbey of Saint-Denis, mounted
double-page mounts. At the head, an Indian ink drawing heightened with pink wash,
depicting the crypt of the Saint-Denis basilica.
