First edition of Vitruvius printed in France, with annotations by Guillaume Philandrier. Illustrated with woodcuts, including a fold-out plate and 83 vignettes including a portrait. The the four figures of the Circus, the Latran and Modena marbles, are by Bernard Salomon. by Bernard Salomon. Fine copy, with numerous old handwritten annotations in the margins. Paper restoration on title. The Epitome in omnes Georgii Agricolae (which is missing) was carefully transcribed and perfectly calligraphed at the time of binding on 8 leaves bound at the end.
