VITRUVE. Les Dix livres d'architecture. A Paris. chez Jean Baptiste Coignard. 1673. 1 volume in-folio, brown grained calf, spine rebacked with nerves spine. First edition of the French translation by Claude Perrault, with commentary. Copper-engraved illustrations, 70 engravings, including: a title-frontispiece, 65 large compositions in the text and 4 bandeaux and lettrines and approx. 80 woodcut vignettes in the text. The bifeuillets with double-page copper engravings have been mounted on tabs. Angular traces of wetness, larger on the leaves of the first third of the volume, scattered foxing and stains a few later notes in pencil. Ex-libris monogram in ink "JG".
