DANTAN L'AINE. Antoine Laurent dit. Bust of General Menou. (19th century). Plaster bust. Height 78 cm, Chips. Misses. Plaster bust of General Abdallah Jacques François Menou (1750-1810) by the sculptor sculptor Antoine Laurent Dantan dit Dantan l'aîné. Signed and dated "Dantan aîné 1824" and marked on the base "MANTOUE, LE GRAND CAIRE, BELBEIS, SALEHIEH" above a sword. saber. The general is decorated with the Order of Maximilian Joseph of Bavaria, the Legion of Honor d'honneur and the Iron Crown.
