Beautiful oil on canvas depicting a marine scene during the siege of Sebastopol in the Crimean War.

Jean-Baptiste Henri Durand-Brager was present at the siege of Sebastopol, then took part in an expedition to the Black Sea
and the end of the conflict.
A suite of 21 paintings on the siege of Sebastopol by Jean-Baptiste Henri Durand-Branger are in
at the Château de Versailles, commissioned by Napoleon III in a decree dated
March 22, 1858.
