Marine set belonging to Admiral Flavien du Moiron, including his portrait, a ship portrait
portrait of the ship "La Chimère", and a view of the vessel L'Océan in the middle of a storm.
1851-1854. Portrait : 41 x 31 cm - Ship portrait : 23 x 30.5 cm - Storm : 16 x 24.5 cm,
wood and gilded stucco frames, with missing parts. Minor foxing. Folds.

-The Vessel The Ocean in the Storm. Graphite heightened with gouache on paper. Signed lower
lower left in pencil At. Frémy.
-La Chimère. 160-horsepower steam corvette commanded by Mr. Flavien du Moiron. Signed lower
bottom left in pencil At Frémy. Graphite heightened with gouache on paper. Inscribed in pen
Souvenir de Toulon 1er Janvier 1851" and "C. Aux Cousteaux (?) Oct. de la Guerronière.

On the back of the frame of Vaisseau L'Océan dans la tempête is a handwritten note by Flavien du
Moiron "Lead pencil made by the ship's doctor depicting the gale or mistral wind experienced
in the Mediterranean, by the three-decker vessel l'Océan, 120 guns flying the flag of vice-admiral
Admiral Hugon commanded by Captain Hamelin (later Admiral) from the
January 23 to 27 in the Gulf of Lion (1841). The squadron of 6 ships and 2 smaller vessels
