Mixed technique of ink and wash heightened with white gouache.
This portrait appears to be the model for a miniature on ivory of the same dimensions depicting the colonel.
colonel, signed Després and presented for sale at Ader on November 30, 2015. This model is therefore
a rare witness to the preparatory work for the miniature.
