68. Emmanuel Alfred BEURDELEY Pair of small torches in brown patina bronze, gilt bronze and white marble representing a young faun standing on a tambourine, holding on his head a basket of fruits. The circular base is decorated with a frieze of water leaves and topped with a row of pearls at the base of the white marble pedestal. Attributed to Emmanuel Alfred Beurdeley. Louis XVI style, late 19th century. (Missing a fuse, a torch slightly unscrewed). H : 25 cm Although not signed, these torches present a frieze of pearls characteristic of the productions of Beurdeley's productions. These pearls can be found on a pair of torches of an identical model reproduced in L'Ameublement d'art français 1850-1900, Camille Mestdagh, Les éditions de l'Amateur, Paris, 2010, page 275 (fig. 324) ; as well as on the flamed mahogany commode with fauna that we present in this sale (lot n° 124). sale (lot n° 124). A pair of identical torches belonging to the Beurdeley collection was sold on May 16, 1979 (Ribault- Menetiere-Lenormand, Palais d'Orsay, lot n°22).
