70. Louis Auguste Alfred BEURDELEY (known as Alfred I) Secretary with flap decorated with rosewood, amaranth and maple inlaid with a trellis of daisies in frames of nets. It opens from top to bottom with a drawer, a flap revealing four small drawers and four cavities, and two leaves. The uprights with cut sides rest on straight legs with a slight protrusion. Ornamentation in chased and gilded bronze such as frieze of interlacing, mouldings of frame with amati bottom, pastilles, rosettes and apron. Grey veined marble top with a reversed cavet. Stamped twice A. BEURDELEY IN PARIS. H. 131 cm ; W. 87 cm ; D. 39 cm. Louis XVI style, late 19th century. (Crack on the right side, small lifting).
