94. FORESTIER Pair of large candelabras with five arms of light in gilt bronze, brown patina bronze and sodalite, composed of a baluster vase topped with fruits; the arms of light with leafy cups are supported by heads of ram. The circular base decorated with garlands of flowers resting on a hexagonal base. Signed FORESTIER Fecit. 19th century. (Some gold wear, small cracks and accidents to the draperies on the base). H : 57 cm. The signature of Forestier is part of the continuity of a dynasty of chiselers and especially founders, active since the beginning of the 18th century. Mentioned in the accounts of the Bâtiments du Roi from 1755 until the Revolution, the Forestier family also worked for the Garde-Meuble de la Couronne and the Prince de Condé.
